Fundraising with Lauren Moncrief
My name is Lauren Moncrief and I am a Committee Member for the Darrell K Royal Research Fund’s Legacy Council. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the council and help raise awareness and money to support both research and care for Texans to find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
Ever since I was old enough to remember, I have been surrounded by family members with Alzheimer’s Disease. It is the first disease I ever knew about, and unfortunately have come to know all too well. It has been painful to watch so many loved ones suffer not only as the patient, but as the caregiver as well as Alzheimer’s take its toll on all those involved. I do this in memory of my grandmother, Poddy Lucas, who was a precious women and love to her husband, children and grandchildren. We miss her very much.
Lauren was born and raised in Midland, Texas and although she wasn’t raised a Longhorn, she couldn’t get to The University of Texas fast enough. She graduated in 2007 and now resides in Houston, Texas with her husband, Matt, and their two boys, Henry and Lucas.
