Hilary Mundinger's Fundraising Page

I am so excited to be a part of the Legacy Council for the Darrell K. Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer's disease for the second time. The University of Texas and Alzheimer's disease are close to my heart and it is an honor to raise support for advancing a cure for Alzheimer's.

My grandmother, Mary M. Hamilton, was diagnosed with dementia, a form of Alzheimer's disease, in 2003 at the young age of 71. It was not until 2007, that my family truly experienced the extreme severity of the disease's effects on one's mind and physical body as my grandmother's health really started to deteriorate. We were fortunate enough to have our grandmother live in our backhouse for the last years of her life. She lost her battle in 2009. The battle was tough for her, our family, and her caretakers. I am honored to serve on a council to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease for all of the people that are affected by this devestating sickness.

Hilary graduated with a degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2013. Upon her graduation, she moved back to her hometown, Houston, and is currently the Director of Annual Funds at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory School.
